Men's Tennis on the rise - Spiny_Norman - 02-10-2022

Good things seem to be happening for Paul Goldstein's men's tennis team. They are currently ranked #8 in the country. They are 6-0 this season, including non-conference wins over Pepperdine, USC and UCLA. They won their 2 regional ITA matches and will play next weekend at the ITA Indoor Nationals. And they have the #1 ranked singles player in the country, Arthur Fery as well as 3 other players ranked in the top 75 (Alexandre Rotsaert 38, Max Basing 49 and Axel Geller 74).

The men play Cal in a non-conference match on Saturday. If you are in the area, you might want to check out the action.

Man, the Cardboard has been sleeping on this team.  Thanks for the heads up Spiny.

The men's tennis team has been fun to watch. They have a lot of moxie and fire. Geller at 3 is a luxury and  almost an automatic win.  He is recovering from an injury so I would not be surprised if he eventually moves up to play at 2.  Arthur Fery has been incredible at 1. He plays with a lot of confidence. He earned his #1 ranking. I wonder when we will see Alex Lee get some playing time. He was a blue chip and #2 recruit. Speaking of recruits. Stanford has the  #1 recruiting class for 2022. Joining the team are the #2 and #4 recruits.

Hopefully the team will continue to play well, extremely well. I hope to see some of the matches next weekend at the ITA Indoor Championship.

thanks.
