WGolf @ Silverado - winflop - 04-04-2022

Women's golf has sent just two individuals to the Silverado Showdown in Napa - Sadie Englemann & Calista Reyes. I think this is likely Calista's last tournament in Cardinal & White as she is graduating and the only tournaments left are Pac-12s and NCAAs.

San Jose State just keeps beating every team in the west (including Stanford) and moving up the national rankings. They could make some noise at the NCAAs.

They do seem to be peaking at the right time, but I still wouldn't want to play our ladies in a 5v5

Round 1 is in the books. Calista Reyes played well today, sitting T13 at +1 while Sadie Englemann is T44 at +4.

Reyes was -2 until going double bogey-bogey on her last two holes.

I get why most of our players aren't there after the events of the past week/weekend, but I don't understand why Rebecca Becht and Yu Wen Lu aren't also playing this event. I'll ask when I'm out there on Wednesday afternoon.

I was hoping to be able to go up to Napa and watch Calista & Sadie's final round today, but work got in the way :(

T38. Calista Reyes +10
T49. Sadie Englemann +12

Scoring average across the three rounds was over 75 (+3), and only 3 players in the entire field of 90 players finished under par. San Jose State has emerged as a legit contender, winning their third tournament of the spring season.

Stanford's remaining tournaments are Pac 12's in Eugene April 18-20, NCAA Regionals at home May 9-11, and (presuming qualification) NCAA Championships in Scottsdale May 20-25
