I didn't see this coming. He seemed to be the lead recruiter on a lot of the high ranked players so I'm curious to see who the replacement is.

Aren't we at a disadvantage with one less coach or does it not matter until the summer?

IMO this vacancy is concerning, along with everything else. Would really like some positive news from this program right now! Sorry to be a pessimist.

On a related note, still no news on incoming transfers? Wasn't the deadline to be eligible for next season May 1st?
Also, being a pessimist is the only acceptable state of mind about the men's BB program right now.

However LOI period ends tomorrow

Is this not the guy who was Rick Singers entree into Stanford Athletics and the ensuing Varsity Blues scandal? Why he still had a job is an indictment of Muir and MTL, at least IMO.

Actually a fair question to ask. The questions continue because the Stanford AD has never given a full summary of what went on with Rick Singer and Stanford.

Coaches have a lot more to do than "have a real practice". But, other than recruitment, there's not much they can do with the players.

17.4.2.2 Prohibited Activities. Prior to the start of on-court preseason basketball practice per Bylaw 17.4.2, members
of the institution's coaching staff may not be involved with one or more team members at any location in any of the
following activities except as permitted in Bylaws 17.1.7.2.2 and 17.4.6:
(a) Setting up offensive or defensive alignments;
(b) Chalk talks;
© Discussions of game strategy;
(d) Reviewing game films or videotapes;
(e) Activities using basketball equipment; or
(f) Observing student-athletes in any basketball activities even if such activities are not arranged by the institution's coach.
It could get really interesting if 17.4.2.2(f) were interpreted to include videos taken by others (whether Facebook or YouTube postings or live streams, or last year's game films). Is "student-athletes" to be interpreted as "team members" (if so, why wasn't that said) or whether that actually covers high school players, players at other schools, etc.

That tweet was dated April 11. Isn't it interesting that as much as this group is involved with MBB, no one had any inkling for a month?
Clearly, Stanford didn't announce it. No mention of a search for a new Oscar da Silva Associate Head Men's Basketball coach.
Coach Cohen's page is gone from the GoStanford.com site for 2021-2022 (but is there for 2020-2021).
Regarding Adam Cohen and any ties to the whole scandal:

The question I would ask is why did Cohen contact Vandemoer about the "walk-on" at all? That reason isn't mentioned. What was his purpose to ask for a "quick conversation"? Has Cohen or other MBB coaches ever contacted one of the minor sport coaches about walk-ons before or since?
There was apparently a copy of the email, but was there evidence that a call was made by Cohen in which he might have left a voicemail? Or is there evidence he didn't, or is there simply no evidence to say one way or the other. Stanford leaves it as "no evidence that the coach had vouched for Singer" versus "no evidence of a voicemail by Cohen to Vandemoer", leaving it as a former employee's word against a (then) current employee. I see little reason for Vandemoer to misrepresent the truth now. It's different for Cohen. Could the Feds require Singer to clarify what his contact was to Cohen in regard to this matter? (Would his lawyer have tried to make that request a condition of agreeing to plead guilty?)

Cohen was not his recruiter, so he's still coming.

Anyone hear any news? A quick search didn't turn up anything.
Not adding any transfers would be a fitting way to end a bad offseason for men's basketball.
