Men's Tennis (2nd round NCAA's) starts at 11AM - EBSteve - 05-07-2022
Don't forget about men's tennis. They have the same won/loss record (18-5) as our women's team and will also be playing their 2nd-round NCAA match today. They beat #35 Mississippi State 4-0 yesterday and play Harvard in Cambridge starting at 11AM PT. Apparently TennisONE is the only viewing option, and that app didn't work well with my laptop yesterday but apparently works better for mobile viewers.

Stanford's #1 singles player Arthur Fery only played doubles yesterday vs. Mississippi St. But I do see that he is in the singles lineup today vs. Harvard.

well, we lost 5 first sets but picked up a point at #4. Geller's about to lose on #2, but we won the second set on #1 and #5 to even up those matches, and we're even in the second set on the other two.

the tide has turned, we're up 3-2 in the match, and on serve in the third sets on courts 3 and 6. Need one of the two!

Exciting match! Fery, our #1, lost the first set 1-6 but ended up winning in 3. As oldalum mentioned, it's down to the third set in two matches and we only need to win one to advance. Fyi, Harvard is a tough out. They are 9-0 this year at home, have a nine-straight (all venues) win streak, have nine shutout victories, and are offering free burritos to students who attend this match.

Big comeback to win the match. Basing on Court 3 was down a break in the third, and came back to win the final four games. His Harvard opponent sprained his ankle in the final game and was unable to move. Basing had all the momentum at that point so it may not have mattered.
On to the 3rd round.
