Football Tailgating Outlook - MVCard - 09-01-2022

Hearing through the grapevine that the bathrooms in Lot#2 (El Camino Grove) and Masters Grove have been demolished and replaced with porta-potties so that Stanford could use the square footage elsewhere due to its permit restrictions.  Given the troughs and old stalls that were there, maybe this is a good thing, but I was hoping for replacement.  Curious if others have heard this, as well as any other changes to the otherwise excellent pregame party environment. :)

I was there last week and looked hard saw no new bathrroom buildings in Lot 2.

Yea, I miss the good old days of the long lines at the men's room above the student section, and um, well, making use of the balcony. . . .

Another amenity/tradition goes by the board as the war on tailgating continues.

Don’t think Mr A would have approved.  Heard he loved the old troughs so much that when Santa Clara wouldn’t let him upgrade them and insisted on urinals he left them as is

I was told they are bringing in "toilets on a trailer" for the games, the ones I have seen at other events (although the events have had far fewer people than even a Stanford football game) were nice, something like this

although something like this seems more likely

hard to replicate the capacity of the lot 2 men's room without a lot of trailers....

Those look like a decent option.  But I’ll miss the yellow ducks in the trough for the Oregon games?

one of our tailgate group reports two trailers with five total stalls parked there Thursday afternoon about where the old lot 2 restrooms were, might be OK for Colgate but I expect the USC crowd to be considerably larger...

The pictures show what we call in the film business, "Honey Wagons."

We tailgate in Master's Grove and the bathroom is still there.  However it is significantly more modern than the old El Camino bathrooms.  I saw a line of porta potties along the paved lane just on the south end of Lot #2.  Were there other trailers and were they ok?  There may be a crowd for this weekend's game so just wondering how they worked out for the Colgate game.

Cheers,
Pete F.

update on lot 2

- they had the five stalls on a trailer and 10-15 port-a-lets and a hand wash station, sufficient for the crowd for Colgate we'll see what's available this week

our group normally tapes-off space for ~5 cars (one is parked there Thursday night), this has been going on for years and some others tape-off much larger areas.  Our tape was removed Friday night or Saturday morning and our "parking spaces were occupied by ~1:30 when the first folks in our group arrived (and we are not in a high demand area along the bollards), not sure who did it but if it was the University it is yet again another step to the no-fun zone
