Actually ranging from 9-11.5 points. What am I missing? I don't know if we can score 40 on USC in front of a home stadium filled with SC fans. Kids won't be back for a couple weeks, right?

Well, they did allow 14 points to Rice, and we are better than rice, maybe? But even if we are twice as good offensively as Rice, can we keep SC to under 40? 42-28 or 45-28 strikes me as reasonable, but that would be a low confidence prediction. I think anything between Stanford keeps it close and loses on a late SC score to SC wipes the floor with us is on the table.

Me too, but I don't want him to fail completely. I want him to be Heltonesque enough to stay there and be just effective enough they don't fire him. If they keep shuffling coaches, eventually they will find the guy. We want to make that process as lengthy as possible. Of course, after next year we may not care?

I want him to fail miserably. Want SC and it’s band of mercenaries to fail even more. But I doubt either is going to happen.

Interestingly, the rest of the cast who played students in that film are still alive, except for Stork (Doug Kenney) who passed just two years after the filming of Animal House.

Sarah is really a pretty sad story. She was very young and got messed up on drugs due to her association with the hard partying crowd filming Animal House. Very unfortunate.

Back to the subject at hand, the LA Times post-game review of USC's win over Rice might give Stanford fans even more angst over this Saturday's game. USC's DC is Alex Grinch who gave Stanford fits when he was at WSU. He has made takeaways a priority for his defense this season. The USC defense intercepted 4 passes vs. Rice and ran 3 of them back for TDs.

From watching the highlights, it seemed to me Rice pretty much handed the turnovers to U$C on a silver platter.
Balls bouncing off receivers hands and the like.
Hopefully we won't do the same.
However if our defense can't slow the Condoms offense down and McKee starts throwing picks, the game could get pretty ugly.

From 1958-1990, Stanford beat USC a total of three times.

In the 3 decades since then, it's been dead even, with LSJU winning 16 times and USC winning 16 times. Starting in 2007, LSJU has led the series 10-6, incl. 4-2 on the Farm.
