Utah won but not very impressively over two teams they should have crushed if they are for real.  I guess we shall see in a couple of weeks when they come to Maples how for real they are.  They are fun to watch.

I’m curious as well. I find Utah a team that if they are hot shooting can score tons of points and beat most teams but not sure they are a top 10 team nor capable of staying with us. Arizona and Oregon look fine. I think UCLA will be a challenge to us and maybe the second best team in the Pac12?  Remains to be seen if Osborne will be recovered before our game against them. Gosh, I enjoy watching the Pac12 season. Always some surprising upsets and teams.

I'm glad that when we play Oregon St we have a lot of bodies to throw at Reagan Beers. She is tough and plays hard. Also very likeable - watched one of her interviews

Looking at HerHoopsStats.com data I did a midseason review to compare this year's team to Stanford's last 3 tournament teams.  Granted, the strength of schedule to date is down (many tough P12 and tournament games still to play), but I'm especially encouraged to see that:

- The offense is historically strong
- Assist and TO rankings are both good
- Fouls per game ranking has dramatically improved since last year (without hurting our defensive rating)

Thanks for the stat comparison, fascinating as well as encouraging. One thing I've noted in looking at the NCAA DI stats ranking is that Stanford is way down the list at #43 for offensive rebounds/game -- looks bad until you look at the field goal % rank, where Stanford is #6 on the list. As for defensive rebounds per game, #2, behind only Drake -- this paired with being #48 in the defense per game. Just a couple of example of why looking at all the numbers, it's worth considering each one of them in context of related stats.
