The Toejams conveniently have a bye week before the Pac-12 Championship Game.  Allows them to rest, recover, and prepare.

Any idea what the asterisk on some of the games means?

Probably means we're gonna lose.  Which would make us 3-9.

Actually, it means it's a Pac-12 Conference game.  Not sure why Colorado doesn't have an asterix on list view, but it does in the graphic on the gostanford page.

Or why ND has one.

But not in the graphic.  Looks like someone just screwed up entering the data.

The good news:
Even if you think the team will end up 4-8, they should* start out 4-2.

The longest trip (Hawaii) is before school starts so it shouldn’t disrupt the players’ studies or access to student life.

The best news (which we knew already): Stanford plays Arizona and Colorado instead of Utah and Asu. Even years mean up to 7 games at home; Big Game, Notre Dame, Oregon, UCLA and Washington are all at home.

The bad news:
The bye game is mysteriously before the Colorado game.

Homecoming is against UCLA — glad it’s not my reunion year.

The back half of the season has some tough games with no breaks.

3-9 sounds about right, actually. Difference this year is that there's hope and, presumably, more energy and positive buzz around the program. His predecessor dug a deep hole for TT to climb out of.

I thought the only reason to play at Hawaii is to get a 13th game scheduled. Not sure I agree with that but is that not what most schools that play at Hawaii do? And why did we choose not to?

No, that's not what most schools that play at Hawaii do. They are a 12th game that requires extra scheduling prep.

Playing at Hawaii is great for recruiting there, which we do frequently.

I think it was much more common when playing at Hawaii was the 12th game when many teams had an 11 game schedule.  Now, it is less common to take advantage and schedule a thirteenth game.
