WBB - Stanford and others in the NCAA Tournament - WBB fan - 03-06-2023

With the Pac-12 tournament over, we now move on to the NCAA, and bit by bit, the shape of who is there, and where, is emerging. Good article about Stanford looking both backward and forward in this morning's SF Chron:

How far do you think this team can logically go?  Based on the more recent games, it seems we will be lucky to get to the Sweet 16.  On  the other hand we have the talent to make it to the Final 4, which Stanford Team will show up?

Well, other than South Carolina, we are undefeated at home. As someone pointed out, recently we have tended to lose the second game when we are playing away from Maples. Based on this trend we would win the first three and lose in the fourth.

Sounds about right to me. The team should be able to get to the EE without the games going down to the wire.

From the Elite Eight onward, the team will face opponents that could eliminate us if we have a bad game. If we play a very good game, we will make the FF.

In the FF, we have a team capable of beating SCar, but we will need to play at a high level there to win the championship.

And, if both So Carolina and Stanford make it to the final, the team that plays at a higher level than the other will win.   It might be a 49-48 slugfest.

I do not concede that either team will play at a high level. I do not believe that any team has dominion over Stanford.
