developing NIL at stanford - jonnyss - 04-08-2023

imo deserves its own thread (if we already have a nil development thread, please remind me).

do we have to leave it to the athletic department? who of us has ideas and connections?

for example, what about a gsb class project to make stanford nil world-class? anyone here with gsb contacts?

The AD cannot be involved in the establishment of an NIL program.  The most successful programs have been set up by a group of individuals who notify the AD of their intent.  Once that is done, monies are raised followed by the engagement of the players.  As long as there is an arm’s length between the AD and the NIL program, everything is legit.  Of course, some schools and NIL programs have alligator arms thus creating a rather murky separation of the two.
