Not all that different from a Stanford dorm room.

maybe in one of the old dorms (and yes I lived in Stern) but the new ones are much nicer...but from the alumni database she was in Wilbur for at least some time, so not too different (well except for no door and no floor to ceiling walls)...

Enron. Geez, no wonder. Work with them on a pretty big collaboration in the late 90's; singularly the most arrogant folks I'd dealt with. What do they say about apples?

People (such as the authors of that quoted NYT bit) like to pile it on by association as if to make their point stronger.  The article is behind a paywall so I haven't read it but I wouldn't be surprised if they said something like "Her brother used to smoke Camels."  I think of it more as a sign of grasping at straws when you don't have something substantive.

During the investigation of Enron, the FERC collected 600,000 emails authored by 158 individuals from Enron as part of their evidence gathering.  Her father was not one of those 158.  (22 were convicted as part of the Enron collapse.)
I do see one source indicating he was laid off from Enron.

Yeah, I've dealt with companies that have jerks.  One not-to-be-named big company got caught claiming they had done something special that our company had done.  But I wouldn't cast every employee as doing that.

Lizzie was far worse than a jerk. Her actions may have killed people.

I'm pretty sure the comment was about Enron, where Holmes father was employed, having above the average percentage of jerks.  I think we all agree his daughter's actions were criminal, unethical, and blew the top off the Jerk scale.

Agreed.
