Stanford Law DEI Dean Tirien Steinbach resigns - winflop - 07-20-2023
Too little, too late. She should have been fired months ago. Her conduct was reprehensible. Yes she was placed on leave, but IMnsHO she should have been immediately sent packing.

Not my intention at all. It's not about her politics. It's about her leading a mob to squelch speech she disagrees with. I'd feel exactly the same way if she were conservative and the speaker were liberal. I'm all about civil discourse and free speech, and a dean who supposedly represent inclusion should be a leader in fostering that culture across the political spectrum.

this is not a sports post. there are differing opinions about what happened that day. your opinion happens to coincide with the right wing opinion. we have been asked here not to voice partisan political opinions.

This post is no less relevant to Stanford sports than MTL's or Drell's resignations.
Your interpretation of my post as being political is horribly misplaced. Just because a perspective coincides with one side or another does not make the post inherently political.

Given we've received multiple complaints, I'm going to close this for the time being. I think this inches pretty close to the line insofar as everyone's reactions to this incident, on both sides, have tended to line up with predictable party political beliefs. (And I say that as someone who, at a high level, mostly agrees with Winflop's take, if not as strongly).
