I'm just waiting until someone entices an athlete with an NIL deal to get some inside information... or worse, to shave some points.

I can imagine the same set of lawyers arguing the case representing an accused bank robber saying he only robbed because he was addicted to <insert something here> and needed the money to support his habit.

As I read the quote "If I'm blessed and fortunate enough to have the opportunity to continue my college career at Texas Tech, I know I will get the support I need, including through the school's Center for Students in Addiction Recovery," I have to say it sounds as if he is saying he needs to continue playing football in order to be a student. Odd.

Have there been any opinions expressed by NFL teams?

well he's already been in college for four years and if he can't play football he probably has to pay at least part of any tuition/board/fees for wherever he ends up
