Stanford breaks out new unis for Notre Dame - Spiny_Norman - 11-22-2023

For the first time ever, Stanford will wear red helmets on Saturday. They will be adorned with a script Stanford (without the block S logo).

I like these better than the 2011 unis that Stanford wore especially for the ND game. Red jerseys with black numbers and red pants.

The script with underlining reminds me too much of the Cal logo. Good thing we didn't wear this helmet for Big Game. Of course Cal wore a C logo for that one.

The script Stanford with underlining has been used on Stanford's baseball uniforms at times, if I recall correctly.

This "script", in red lettering, is currently being used on one of our 2 home white baseball jerseys. And many years ago this same white script was used on Cardinal red nylon baseball jackets, I have one, that were offered to donors like myself who contributed to the Diamond Club. So this is not new; new to football, but not new to baseball.

I'd rather we always wear white pants and helmets. And do away entirely with black uniforms (for all sports.) But I don't hate the script Stanford.

Like.  Better than anything black, which is not a school color.  Black unis overrated.
Script okay,  looks like Dodgers and other baseball teams.
Still like block S red and white predominating. Call me old-fashioned/retro.

As a one off it’s ok, not off putting but not going to make me run out and buy a red Stanford helmet with white script “Stanford”. I’m a purist, I like our current uni’s. Hated the mid 2000’s red, white and black.
