Not mentioned in the story - Nugent was 1st team All Big 10 at center this year. He was also one of 3 finalists for the Rimington Award for outstanding center in college football (which was won by Oregon's center).
I also would be interested in hearing Nugent's memories of blocking against Washington while at Stanford the past few years.
My family has over 10 degrees from Michigan and my niece is there now. I learned Hail to the Victors about the same time as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I will not be rooting for the Pac 12 team tonight. Go Blue!

I worked and lived for four years in Detroit, and caught a few games at the Big House...it is a singular experience. My son's best friend just bought a house in Royal Oak. I'm close with more than 100 UMich law school alums, and I've spoken before a few of their law school classes. And for better or worse, I'm a fan of Harbaugh and EUTM, recognizing that his unique personality plays better at UMich than anywhere else. I think it would be a brobdingnagian mistake for him to return to the NFL. But I'm rooting for Michigan tonight.

Since Michigan would have been my second choice when I decided to go to Stanford, I will be rooting for them too. With no SEC team to root against, I'm mostly hoping for a well plaid game on both sides.

Will also be rooting for Harbaugh, Drake, and Myles. I love EUTM, and also hope that he stays in the college ranks. He and UMich match each other well; what a dream-come-true for him it must be to coach there. He's so good for college football, and I believe that he's good for the young men and assistant coaches at Michigan.

Another reason to root for Michigan, SC fans will HATE it. Causing SC fans to be sad and angry is more than enough of a reason to tip the scales toward Michigan for me.

Oddly, Michigan was my second choice when I went to MIT. Not, needless to say, a close second.
