Another 2 game winning streak for the men. 

Wasn't able to watch much (tuned into the stream in the second half only to have it freeze across all Pac12 Network games with about 7 minutes to go).

No trouble with the telecast for me.
No Bynum Spencer Jones playing with one arm and Carlyle out for much of the second half after hit in the jaw and a Stanford win. I’m getting a bit excited

Utah played without 2 injured starters. But Stanford played again without Bynum or Murrell. Ted Robinson confirmed that Murrell is out on concussion protocol. Spencer Jones played with an injured right wrist that is so bad he can barely shoot. And yet Stanford got enough from Michael Jones 15 points), Angel (16 points) and Reynaud (20 points) to get a win, only the 2nd Quad 1 win of the season for the Cardinal (which has 4 Quad 3 losses, most in the conference).

Amazingly, Stanford is 3rd in the conference with home games upcoming vs. UW and WSU.

Go Stanford needs some quality control on it's stats. According to the current box score, Stanford made 25 FG, 10 3-pointers and 19 free throws. While Utah made 28 FG, 13 3-pointers and 4 free throws. That would be 99-99. The final score was 79-73. Some reliable stats would be nice.

3-pointers are FGs.

Stanford: 15 2pt, 10 3pt (total 25 FG), 19 FT = 79
Utah: 15 2pt, 13 3pt (total 28 FG), 4 FT = 73

Uhm. 25 FGs with 10 3’s is 15*2 +10*3 + 19 = 79. FGs is all 2s and 3s combined. So you need to subtract the 10 from the 25 to get the 2 pointer count. Utah similarly is 15*2 + 13*3 + 4 = 73

Think of it as an artifact to the days before threes when you only had FGs and FTs. Threes just sorta got tucked in to the FG count. And yes I am old.

If so, they would be deluding themselves in my opinion. Stanford shot 14 more FTs than Utah.  In the last minute plus when Utah was trying to foul, Stanford shot 8 to Utah's 0.  Utah also missed the first FT of a one-and-one 3 times (and Stanford never did).  That accounts for a difference of 11. I don't think that any objective observer would have thought the the refs unfairly favored either team.

This is a better team than we’ve had in years. 

I’ve been frustrated with our inability to win more games and thought we were once again down the path of wasting talent. The inability of the offense to manufacture points seemed down to poor coaching strategy and player development. That may still be the case, but I now realize we haven’t had players that could create opportunities in years, at least not since Terry left after a short season. Ingram seemed to  initially, but did not prove reliable and shied away from taking over. The coaches have some responsibility for that, but either way, now have those players in Carlyle and Stojakovich, and they in turn are having an influence on Angel and Reynaud to do the same.
Frustrating as a couple of the losses have been, this team has been a joy to watch. A far cry from the ineffective and pointless ball movement offense that ended up in a bad shot or a bad turnover in recent past. 

I hope they continue their positive trajectory.

This team still needs a lot more sustained competence before we can think they've turned a corner. KenPom by year under Haase: 

2017: #102
2018: #87
2019: #112

2021: #57

2024: #78

I understand the point is about most recent games/trajectory. Still, not clear to me we are better than the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons, which were the best teams of the Haase era overall.

But I’m finding this team’s offense so much more enjoyable than what I remember in a long time

Indeed, and that's backed up by rankings. Per KenPom, both those previous teams had bad offenses and nationally elite defenses. This iteration so far has a good-but-not-nationally-elite offense and a bad defense. (We'll see where it ends up at the end of the season.)
