Stanford (4 time defending champ) leads the Men's Gymnastics NCAA meet with 5 of the 6 rotations complete.
Stanford will finish on the rings.

I didn't want to jinx the team by woofing about their lead, but it's over now.
Stanford posted 425.324 points to win by 5.6 points over Michigan!! Stanford is your NCAA men's gymnastics champion! Congratulations to Coach Glielmi and all of the gymnasts.
For the 48th consecutive year, Stanford has won an NCAA championship.

Shared a plane to Dallas with the team a couple weeks back and I was tempted to ask about the streak. Glad I didn't jinx it.

Question for someone who follows the sport more closely than I do: how is it that Asher Hong (who won the 2023 U.S. all-around title) won three event titles but wasn't in the mix for all-around? Did Stanford have a couple of theoretically better scorers in an event, so he didn't compete in all six rotations or something?

Hong is nursing a back injury that’s why he only competed in 4 events. IIRC I don’t think he competed in the qualifier. A team can have an all-arounder and not have their score on certain events count towards the team score.
Kai Uemura is one of the top recruits and is coming to Stanford. I think Stanford remains the favorite next year. I wonder if we will see Brandon Briones compete again. He’s been injured for the past 2 years. He was the top recruit in his class. he was with the team

Asher Hong's brother is one of the top recruits and will be coming in. And then the #1 recruit, Kai Uemura is heading our way as well. And, Kiran Mandava who I would say is 2 or 3. But I would say the top 3 recruits are headed our way overall. And then Asher and Khoi and coming back. At the end of the day, I think a strong possibility of continuing the streak.

We'll also have Asher Hong's brother Xander coming in. I agree we'll still be a favorite, with Hong and Young coming back. Unfortunately Briones is done at Stanford.
