It’s been a number of years since I’ve been out of the country for a game, so I’d be interested to hear some current suggestions for how to watch the game from Italy or anywhere else out of the country. TIA

Yes, but you will probably also need to install and use a VPN because the ESPN app will be blocked outside the US. NordVPN seems like a good one for this kind of use, and it has a 30-day guarantee.
More importantly, you are in Italy. Please do not wake up at 4:30am to watch us probably lose to TCU. Grazie.

While in New Zealand in March, I was able to catch a WBB game by using a VPN service and my ESPN account. I can't remember which one I used, but most of them give free 30-day trials.

YES -- I am in UK, and that is the plan. The 9-10 points on the spread is Hand-waving by Vegas.
Same brainiacs had FLST 11.5 over GTEC. Yellow Jackets WON!
I will try ExpressVPN, then login via my cable provider (COX) in the States.
Homedog Trees pull it out in second half, as the Toads croak and throw 2 INTs.

Everyone should be using a VPN these days, even at when not traveling. It's cheap and gives you protection from lots of threats.

So, I am watching in UK on ExpressVPN ($13 for one month), with a simulated location now of WDC.
I downloaded Express VPN, launched and then logged onto ESPN.COM. Not ESPN.UK.COM
Then it asks for my cable provider (COX), like I am in the USA. I sign in to COX, and I have ESPN on my computer.
With the live game.
