FB -- Other Games Week 4 -

h/t to martyup for the tradition...
James Madison University is beating the stuffing out of North Carolina (Tarheels) by a score of... *checks*
60-38
with 3:08 left in the third quarter. Stanford does not have the pleasure of playing UNC this season.
Clemson is up 59-21 over NC State with 12:07 left in the game. Not a great day for the state of North Carolina.

At least we get to play NC State this season. That is, if enough of our players are still alive after visiting Death Valley.

Well, it'll be interesting to see how we stack up to NCST with a common opponent on back-to-back weekends. I really hope we have a closer game. Clemson has got to be in scrimmage mode by now (58-29 with 5:14 left in the game).

Vandy up 13-10 at the half. More relevant to a discussion in another thread, but Sagarin computer ratings have Vandy as No. 88, the lowest rated Power 4 team (Mizzou is No. 13). So, maybe it's too early in the season to put much stock in Sagarin ratings.
The result that's most surprising to me, though it's still early in the game, is SMU leading TCU 17-0 after the first quarter. I fully expected TCU to more or less romp over their rival.
UPDATE: Vandy takes Mizzou to overtime, but loses 30-27 on a missed 31-yard field goal that would have forced a third round of OT. Before the final kick, it had been Mizzou with the kicking woes, missing three field goals (to be fair, they also made three field goals). We are lucky as Stanford fans to have had so many clutch kickers over the years.
Also, Sorry Yikes was ejected after going crazy when a somewhat dubious blocking penalty wiped out a kick return for a TD at the start of the third quarter. He got two unsportsmanlike penalties more or less right in a row. TCU is down big in the fourth quarter.

TCU got smoked by cross-metroplex rival SMU to the tune of 66-42 (that's a basketball score). I didn't see this result coming, especially not in such ignominious fashion.
UNC was finally put out of their misery by the end of the clock: 70-50 with James Madison on top. Yet another basketball score.
FSU is up 7-6 over kal having just received a punt at the FSU11 with 6:15 left in the 3Q. Speaking of kicking woes, kal missed a 36 yd FG about halfway through the 3Q. Ha.
Clemson cruised over NC State, 59-35. While they were only 3-10 on third down, the Tigers amassed 523 yds of total offense, fairly evenly split between rushing (269 yds) and passing (254 yds).

I picked the right game to watch tonight. Baylor and Colorado are going to OT in Boulder. Crazy game.
3-0 Weenies go down to 0-3 FSU.

And the Bears fumbled diving into the end zone for a tying score, and lose the game in OT. The Baylor Bears, that is.

A crazy game in Provo. BYU has scored 31 unanswered points in ~6 minutes of gametime, turning a 6-0 deficit into a 31-6 lead.
BYU has forced two interceptions, and a fumble return for a touchdown. Pretty formidable defense.

Definitely. KState was ranked #13 coming into this game against unranked BYU, and wow did the Wildcats screw the pooch. KSU won the TOP, outgained BYU by ~126 yds, had a superior third down conversion rate and yet...they turned the ball over three times! Those two interceptions set up BYU for short-field touchdowns. And KSU gave up a punt return touchdown on special teams as well as the aforementioned fumble return for touchdown.
KSU's last three drives ended in turnovers on downs: 25 yds, 43 yds, 44 yds.

I'm watching the Pac-12 Insider channel (it still exists!) broadcast of WSU vs. SJSU from last weekend. SJSU has a pretty good passing offense with a dangerous RB, Floyd Chalk IV, a Grambling State transfer (11-102-2, long of 66). QB Emmett Brown (35/54, 354 yds, 4 TDs, 2 INTs) does throw interceptions though (ironically, he transferred from WSU). The game turned out to be a 54-52 shootout ending in 2OT (two interceptions in 1OT).
Stanford will play SJSU on Nov. 29th, and I hope we defend better than WSU did.
