Props to the Clemson groundskeepers - cctop - 09-29-2024

Clemson's field looked almost as good at the end of the game as it did at the start.

I would have thought it was turf if not for a few divots here and there.

That's great for any field and amazing considering the amount of rain they got before the game. They must have some good drainage.

It made me wistful about that loss against Oregon in the mud (2015?) where it seemed like they had better cleats than we did.

Since heavy rains are quite common in football season, I'm sure they have a state-of-the-art drainage system. I found that in recent years they have been doing major upgrades to the drainage on their practice fields and other sports stadiums.

They might also cover the field, as with baseball.

Thanks.

What a privilege it was to be disappointed that our national title hopes were dashed.

I remember people hoping for rain before that game because they thought a soft field would counter Oregon's speed. Then we got it and it seemed to bother us more than it did the Ducks. People then turned around and blamed the loss on the field conditions, which I thought was amusing.
Unfortunately, not one of Andrew Luck's better games.

Wasn't that the game where the team somehow didn't wear their long cleats?

To my recollection, yes, although for that game weren’t there comments that Stanford further watered the field even more because they thought it would hint them an advantage?
