Nicknames of Note: Wolf Smack Edition - Leftcoast - 11-12-2024

We are really stepping up our nicknames!  The "funny" meter is inversely (and perversely) proportional to the team's competitiveness on the field.

The Wolf Smack game podium:

1) PAsportsfan: On my Tree?!?! vs Damn! Wolf just crapped
2) chrisK Really? vs Raleigh
3) vataha:  Tree Bark vs Dog Bark

Honorable mention:
* Sam Leopold:  Valley vs Triangle (for tech references)
* Skip75:  Lying in State vs State (for accuracy)

I saw you cardcrimson with the 1983 Jim Valvano shout out (Tree Huggers vs Coach who can't find anyone to hug).  I watched that game ... but  I'm afraid no one younger than us will get the reference and you got demoted from the podium for reminding me how old I am.

Keep 'em coming and post your own shout out for any nicks that were unfairly overlooked.

Yeah, getting old isn't for the young. . . .

One of the greatest speeches ever:

For some reason, couldn't get the video to load on the page. Valvano's speech at the ESPYS two months before he succumbed to cancer. Tremendous watch.
