Once Stanford hired Andrew Luck to oversee the Cardinal football program, Cal went into scramble mode in an effort to keep up.

Cal is hiring Ron Rivera as the GM for the football program.

Always liked Ron. Played football and basketball against him in high school. Exceptional man, IMHO. Cancer survivor. Also punted and kicked at Seaside High.

He coached CMC at Carolina. First day of pads for Christian McCaffrey in a practice drill... He goes untouched. It got to a point where Coach Rivera had to let his defenders know that they were, in fact, allowed to tackle him. That's when the players told Riverboat Ron that... they got the memo, he was just that hard to bring down.
