Maybe this should go under the softball thread, but the AD recently announced that they are going to attempt to break the single-game softball attendance record on April 19th.
This should be a really fun event, and I encourage all Bay Area softball fans (and Stanford sports fans) to attend. If you haven’t been to a game this year, the department did a great job setting up the football stadium for softball.

I didn't see a link in your post so I'll add one here:

"...the program eyes the NCAA softball attendance record of 12,566."
"The record of 12,566 was set on opening day of last year’s Women’s College World Series on May 30, 2024."

12,566? No way.

Devon Park's main stadium can seat up to 13,000. Oklahoma City is serious about its softball, and that's why the LA28 games will host Olympic softball in Oklahoma City.

OK, I concede. Pesky data.

No offense intended! I agree, it's a really big number for college softball. UCLA's stadium seats 1328, and USC's stadium seats 2500. It's no wonder that the IOC decided that that likely wouldn't be enough for the Olympics. And for those unaware, Devon Park in Oklahoma City is the permanent site of the NCAA women's College World Series (much the same as Omaha is to the NCAA men's College World Series), so that kind of capacity is befitting of a national championship tournament.

Bumping this up because we’re just about a week away from the game. Ticket office says over 8k tickets have been sold. It will take a real push to get to 12k, but this will easily be the largest softball crowd in Stanford history.

If I were Stanford, I'd invite Canady to pick up the remaining tickets and give them to area schools or girls teams tickets to promote NCAA softball and to acknowledge her former team.
Think of the publicity for Stanford and Canady and Softball!

Great idea. There's got to be 250 +/- high school softball teams in Northern California...there's 97 in the CCS alone. 15 players per team, 3,750 tickets.

So the new 501©3 organization is a “community fund”? Here’s a chance to do something that is community wide.

Cal made the most of the spotlight with a big upset win...
Come on Times of India. It wasn't that much of an upset. Don't be disrespecting Cal.
