OT: I’m A-Leavin’ ends up at UCLA -

Sorry, I just had to laugh. Has there ever been a more ironic name than (former) Tenn QB Nico Iamaleava?
Dude wanted to renegotiate his NIL to $4mil for this year. Tenn said no.
So he ends up a Bruin — and the portal QB UCLA just signed, Joey Aguilar from Appalachian State (who apparently threw for a zillion yards there), immediately re-enters the portal.
And among the rumored destinations for Aguilar? Tenn of course.
Maybe all the schools should just figure out it might be cheaper to simply trade players, LOL.
(There are a couple of articles in the Athletic/NYT but I apologize I can’t figure out how to link them here.)

I saw the news about Nico a few days ago. The article I read said he settled for less NIL than he was demanding from Tennessee although I would put that in the category of speculation.

Given that Nico was asking for $4mil and that SEC by-laws somehow prohibit transfers to other SEC schools (surely some labor lawyer could have gotten an injunction here), I think UCLA's offer was likely lower and the best Nico was going to get. Wasn't the rumor $1mil?

The SEC does permits intraconference transfers. However, the player must sit for one year after transferring.

Ah, thanks.
