I tried the "Insert an Image" button, the "Code" button, and the "View Source" button.

I used "insert an image", the URL i inserted was "image address" of the picture

I usually post the image to the media folder of a domain I own. Then I copy the URL and use that. The hardest part is getting the image proportions correct.

OK, I figured it...

From Imgur we can't use the link they give us to share:
https://imgur.com/pjouLLQ

Instead we have to click the 3 dots, select "Get Share Links", and copy the BBCode link:
https://i.imgur.com/pjouLLQ.png

When I hit the "Insert an Image" button and plug in the BBCode link, it works:

you can also "opposite mouse click" on the image and should (at least on a Mac) get a pop up menu and you can select "copy image address" and paste that into the URL to insert an image
