Very fun to watch. If Nakase doesn't get COY this season, something is fishy.

Fun facts about the Valkyries:
1. They're making WNBA history. Founded in 2023 and beginning play in 2025, the Valkyries became the first WNBA expansion team to make the playoffs in its inaugural season. Now they're the first expansion franchise to reach the Finals in just its second year.
2. They're outselling every other WNBA team. They've sold out all 44 regular-season home games over two seasons at Chase Center. Their 2026 average attendance was 18,064, leading the league for the second consecutive year. Fans call their home court Ballhalla.
3. They just swept the defending champions. Golden State eliminated the Las Vegas Aces 3–0 in the semifinals, including a dramatic 87–77 overtime victory. They're now facing the Atlanta Dream for the championship, with Game 1 at Chase Center tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.
4. Their defense is the best in the WNBA. They allowed just 75.1 points per game this season, the fewest in the league. Three players—Gabby Williams, Veronica Burton and Kiah Stokes—were named to the 2026 All-Defensive teams. Their regular-season record was an impressive 32–12.
5. Their business success is almost as remarkable as their basketball. Owned by Warriors co-owner Joe Lacob, the team has reportedly reached an estimated valuation of $850 million and annual revenue of approximately $100 million. That's extraordinary for a franchise in its second season.
6. Their logo is full of hidden San Francisco symbolism. The V-shaped logo incorporates the Bay Bridge, whose tower doubles as a sword. The bridge cables resemble wings, while 13 lines commemorate the team's entry as the WNBA's 13th franchise. Their distinctive color is called Valkyrie Violet, and their name comes from the warrior women of Norse mythology.
7. Head coach Natalie Nakase and general manager Ohemaa Nyanin have built a contender without relying on a roster of established superstars. Their emphasis on teamwork, character and defensive discipline has become a fascinating management success story.
