Record thru Week 5 of the 34 first-year FBS head coaches - cctop - 10-09-2026

I would've expected on average that first-year coaches would have fewer wins as they rebuild their programs, but as the article says, expectations have changed:

Pat Fitzgerld and Jim Mora -- both names thrown about on this board for our vacancy -- are sitting right alongside us at 2-3.

Lol at Cal having the same record as us at this point in the season. They've played an easier scheduled too.

This is influenced by where the cream puffs are scheduled. Most teams front load them. If we had played Elon already, I suspect Tavita would be sitting higher than this. It would be a more insightful chart if strength of opponents was included, or if non-Power 4 wins were excluded.
