Which poster was it who said they look forward to the day that losing to us was no longer a reason to fire your coach?

Lose to Stanford. Get fired. Seems like this happens a lot.

Good thing he didn't lose to an Ivy. They might've thrown him in jail.

supposedly Philip Rivers is being considered as his replacement.
and his son has already committed.

HILARIOUS!

PLAYOFF / Bowl Projections after Week 8:
CBS has CALSucks (3-5) in the Independence Bowl vs WVU ?? (lovely Shreveport, LA) on Tuesday Dec. 22 at 5:30pm PT on ESPN.
CAL: plays @NCST, @UVA, hosts Stanford and PITT to finish. Maybe they get to 4 wins...?
At 4-4 now, we could take that spot by beating Cal and one other.
Which one: @LOUV, @VTEC, SMU?
We might be the toughest schedule in country outside SEC.
Losers in QFinals:
LSU to MIAM, TEX to GEOG, UTAH to NDAM, UCLA to OHST
Then:
ORANGE BOWL — Projection: (1) Miami vs. (4) Ohio State
SUGAR BOWL — Projection: (2) Georgia vs. (11) Notre Dame
That would be a potent TV draw as a Final Four.
Any Finale out of those four would be worth seeing.
GEOG won Nat'l Champ in 2021 + 2022
OHST won for 2024. MIAM wants former glory from 2001.
NDAM carries a chip on their shoulder after being left out in 2025.
CBS has INDY (last year's champ) in Playoffs, but losing to TEX in first round.

6 (or more) wins would be lovely, but there are likely to be a number of teams that will elect to skip the lower tier bowls once starters start opting out to begin to prep for their transfer portal activities. There might also be programs that are genuinely not excited about some participating in some of the lower tier bowls. 84 slots are quite a lot to fill.
In that world where spots are open the 5-7 teams with high APRs would get calls to fill slots. I imagine Stanford would be at or near the top of that APR list. :)
6-6 or better would be amazing, but even 5-7 could be enough.

Stanford fans don't travel that well, so I don't expect Stanford to be at the top of anyone's sub-6-6 lists. But we'll see. I already know I can't travel this winter, unfortunately.

Wasn't Dave Aranda on a lot of Stanford dream coach lists? He's out of a job now too.

last night's attendance was something. I've seen more people at a taco bell at 7 pm.

Who would want to fight through peninsula rush hour traffic, deal with parking, and sit through what was expected to be a rough game from a 3-4 home team? As for the students...I don't know what their excuses are, but it's a shame the students couldn't come out to watch a great edition of ACC west coast timezone shenanigans.

Student section wasn't horrible, roughly two sections filled. Not that different from what I've seen over the last 20 years outside the glory years. The GT game was much better due to freshman orientation.
Not saying it's great, but the stark issue is the non-students.
