Ramblin' QB Tate Forcier forced out of the pocket again - Redrum - 01-10-2012

Has left the San Jose St. program.  Rumors that he's going to Arizona.    Rumors that it was academics.  Father issued statement that the year off of scholarship was just too hard financially so Tate had to withdraw from school.  Father also mentioned the stress and pressure was too hard on Tate...which kind of synchs up with some of the behavior reported in the latter days of his career at  U. Michigan.  Instead of being entertaining and funny,  the Forcier family saga is beginning to seem like Greek drama.  Father has ambitions for himself  but somehow has offended the Gods who deny him.  So he tries to live through his sons by making them great.  But the Gods are relentless in their punishment of him and,  one-by-one,  his sons are made to fail to crush his dreams.  Tate is just the last.  The most gifted son given the most opportunities is forced to wander the college football world never making an impact,  forgotten almost as soon as he arrives at the next program.

Or, not.  Maybe he just drank too much beer and screwed off in his dorm and this is what happens if you do that.  Not sure if the Arizona thing is real or if he was just marking time in his sit-out transfer year.  It'll be interesting to see if and where he ends up  or whether major college ball is over for him.

Beat me to it, Garvin. If ol' Tate can't handle the academic rigor of San Jose, who knows what'll befall him in Tucson. And by the way, didn't he have a little problem with RichRod back in Ann Arbor?

Re: Ramblin' QB Tate Forcier forced out of the pocket again - washingtonismoney - 01-10-2012

Yeah, Rodriguez thought Forcier couldn't focus or practice well, which is why he replaced him with Denard Robinson. So I kind of doubt Rodriguez would bring him in.

Tate Forcier is really just a sad story at this point. Wasn't there a reported suicide attempt?

I can't comment specifically about this young man, and I wouldn't even if I knew him.  But I can say that SJSU has placed a much higher emphasis on academics since Tom Bowen arrived and the new NCAA AP regimen went into place.  (Of course, SJSU suffered years of scholarship penalties while it "got the message.")

I can easily see how SJSU at this stage might be significantly more rigorous academically (on its athletes) than big time football factory schools.
