Blake Lueders - ChicagoCard - 09-10-2012
I thought Blake Lueders, according to a statement by Shaw, was injured and probably not going to play from the outset this year. RuleOfTree.com's photo gallery of the game shows Lueders making a tackle. Is he outside the 2-deep depth chart (i.e. behind Debniak and K. Anderson)?
Lueders (from northern Indiana) is a guy that Stanford flipped from Notre.Dame, the way I understand it.
Lueders - Redrum - 09-10-2012
Has, in the coachspeak regime started under Harbaugh 'been working through some issues" (i.e. injuries) . I have no idea of his health at this time. He might be perfectly healthy but I think his uncertain position on the depth chart is a clue to how uncertain his ability to contribute is at this time.Â
FWIW, Lueders' name does
not appear in the official stats of individuals playing defense for the first two games in 2012. In 2011 he appeared in all 13 games had 17 tackles 5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks.
You're right, Lueders was high rated coming in from Indiana and , at the time, getting him out of Northern Indiana Parochial College's clutches was psychological bonus. When he was healthy and participating, the only question hanging over him was whether he was a "tweener" whose size and athletic skills made it hard to say decisively he'd be successful as an ILB... or an OLB... or even a DE. Didn't seem a perfect fit at any of those but his stats show his potential.Â

He has not played this season and will most likely redshirt since hasn't not expected back until October/November at the earliest.

this is from a free Rivals article today:
Lueders progressing well: Outside linebacker Blake Lueders still seems likely to take a redshirt this season, but is progressing well from a shoulder injury that's kept him out of action.
"He's doing well," Lance Anderson said. "I think from what I understand he's ahead of schedule with his rehab. He's such a hard worker I know he's going to give it everything that he has. I think he should be out here practicing a little bit ahead of schedule but still I think it's probably middle to the end of the season before he'll be back out on the practice field."

Every time I hear a coach talk about an injured player's progression, they always seem to say "ahead of schedule". I've never heard a coach say a player was behind schedule. While I like hearing the recovery is ahead of schedule, it seems odd that that would be the case all the time. Is "the schedule" too conservative or is "ahead of schedule" a euphemism for "I'm not going to give you any real details"?

Not sure I agree with that. FL announced their star DE/OLB is now out for the season because he had a set back in his ACL rehab. He was supposed to be back in October.

Translation: We recruited over him.

over recruited him? You've got to be kidding me. He was a 5 star recuit and he tore his ACL in April. Most people don't come back in 6 months. Skov supposedly isn't at 100% and it has been just about a year for him. Coming back in October was just wishful thinking by the Florida coaching staff. They've underachieved every year since Tebow graduated even though they pull in a top 10 recruiting class every year so they are desperate. They didn't even make their starting QB decision until half time of their first game. That is unbelievable...

Down, boy. As you surmised, I was just kidding.

Haha. Ok no worries. I thought you were dead serious.
