Mid-Season Re-Assessment: How many wins? -
TreeFitty - 10-13-2012
So we're 6 games in.
4-2.
Predict the second half of the season.
@Cal: W
WSU: W
@Colo: W
OSU: L
@Oregon: L
@UCLA: W
8-4 is my hope. Not so sure about that UCLA game.

I'm not sure about the Big Game. It's on the road against a hostile crowd. WSU at home is a win. Colorado, we'd better be able to beat even on the road. I think we might be good enough to pull the upset against OSU at home, and UCLA, I'm not sure about. 8-4 is my hope.

Yeah, Big Game's an away game, but the team's going to be home the whole week, and well, the crowd might be an issue, but not as bad as UW or ND. There should be a big chunk of Stanford fans.
Also, Cal is pretty bad.

I think this team, excepting Oregon, can and probably should win out. But that's optimism. And optimism means the playcalling goes according to how I would call the game.

Nothing has changed for me really. 5-1 is possible, 4-2 is likely (though the other L could come from many sources), 3-3 is also possible.
8 or 9 wins is my expectation and nothing has changed in the last three weeks for me.
Expecting Nunes to play well at home (WSU, OSU) and against Colorado going either 3-0 or 2-1.
Expecting the team to help the QB a lot for the two UC system road games going either 2-0 or 1-1.
Expecting a big ugly, massive beating at Eugene. 0-1
The defense is playing well beyond my preseason expectations while the offense is playing below my expectations. I did fear a Walsh II style collapse after Luck and company left, so it is very encouraging that Shaw has not fallen into that particular situation.
But projections don't really matter too much at the moment. It is all about Oct 20th right now.

I'm still 8-4 as I was at the start of the year. Of course I was thinking 9-3 would be more probable than 7-5 and not so sure now.Â

I am thinking 7-5 or 8-4.
