What a crazy finish. North Carolina was about to lose, but they found an open receiver. He fumbles it, Duke almost recovers, but it is another NC receiver who recovers it and scores a touchdown.
Then Duke has to put together the longest drive of the game, capped with that crazy TD pass in the video, to beat their state rivals and get Bowl eligibility all in one go.
It was awesome.
I'm happy for the Blue Devils because I like teams with strong academics doing well (recruiting rivalry notwithstanding), and it improves our Strength of Schedule. Just lovely :)

I am really starting to like that team, after more than a decade in the wilderness they are finally figuring out how to put it together and they have a lot of heart.
You have to wonder why they didn't give us a better game. Could be that the jetlag beat them more than we did.
I'll be interested to see how they represent in their bowl game.

Do we play them again next year?
I'll root for them, but I hope we get a different schedule next year. SDSU is a good warm up, but I'd like to play ND and Northwestern next season.

No more Duke in Stanford's future schedules. Stanford plays at West Point next year in addition to hosting SJS and ND.Â

On the Duke game, I'm very glad for David Cutcliffe, a good coach and a good guy who deserves success. He was the HC at Ole Miss when Eli was there and OM would've been wise to keep him around.Â
