Maryland has had a pretty rough year at QB this year, losing 4 different quarterbacks to injury. Into the breach steps a 230 lb freshman linebacker, who played option QB in high school, as the new starter. He put up a Nunesian effort, completing 50% of his passes to go 9-18 for 2 TDs and 1 INT, as well as running for 56 yards on 17 carries. Throws a pretty ball...

Well I thought it was sort of an interesting story in the "how many midgets would it take to kill a lion", or "Chicago Be.ars vs a grizzly bear" sort of vein...but yeah you're pretty much spot-on.

How many midgets does it take to kill a Lion?
We don't know that, but we can solve for how many midgets does it take to kill a wombat ...and simply extrapolate to the alleged lion.
Applied to K.al the answer is easy: (Number of head coaches and athletic directors) multiplied by the number of ticket holders minus the number of no-shows divided by the average Athletic Dept. indebtedness normalized over 30 years the product of which is in turn multiplied by number of recent losses.  That number is the number of midgets it takes to kill a wombat.
WAIT!! Sorry. That was the formula for figuring out how many midgets it takes to turn a lion into a wombat. Whatever, the answer is empirical, the experiment has been run, and all the data is there.
