The coaches' ballots revealed - washingtonismoney - 12-02-2012

People who love us (relative to crowd):

Todd Graham
Frank Beamer (think he remembers the Orange Bowl still?)
Brett Bielema
Kyle Flood
Chris Petersen
Steve Sarkisian
Jeff T.edford

People who hate us (relative to crowd):
James Franklin
Mark Hudspeth
Joker Phillips.

The haterade for Franklin is strong--ranked ND 4 with three SEC teams above. Probably just hates all academic non-Vanderbilt teams.

Joker Philips still gets to vote even though he's no longer a head coach? If I were him I'd just write in vote various community colleges to fill out his ballot.

Football is odd in the way polls decide so much.  Just look at Stanford and UCLA.

Two weeks ago Stanford ranked #11 was 9-2, and UCLA ranked #16 was 9-2.  Easily explained by quality of wins and strength of schedule.  Sure
Last week Stanford was 10-2 and moved up to #9, UCLA was 9-3 and didn't fall at all.  Huh?  Get thrashed 35-17 at home and nothing?  Odd
This week Stanford is now 11-2 and moved up to #8, UCLA is 9-4 and only dropped to #19 in the coaches poll.

And went #15, #17 & #17 over the three weeks in the AP.  Really?

Oh well, I am still excited for SJSU.  #24 is really amazing.

The polls decided nothing.  It all happened on the field.  Larry's Ball (aka, the Pac 12 Championship) is in Stanford's possession, not because of a poll but because the Cardinal beat UCLA.  Honestly, I don't care where Stanford is ranked.  No poll is going to change the fact that Stanford is going to the Rose Bowl and that I feel like doing the Snoopy happy dance every time I type "Stanford is going to the Rose Bowl."
