MBB vs Lafayette? - pincemob - 12-30-2012

Did anyone see the men's game yesterday?  Parsing the box score, it looks like they shot the lights out from 3 (11-19) and we were ice cold (3-19).  Overcoming that kind of shooting disparity is tough to do, we must have done some things right.

Didn't see it, but playing them close (was within two late) is yet another negative indicator in a season that's been full of them. Lafayette is ranked #216 by kenpom.

Also not so good - winning by that small of a margin when you outrebound the opposition 46-26.

I watched the entire game. We'd have some decent stretches and build 8 - 10 point leads in the first and second half. But then the offense would stagnate (Lafayette played a zone all night and there would be 4 or 5 possessions in a row where Bright or Randle would just dribble or pass the ball around the perimeter and no one else move move around the zone) and the defense would lose shooters (a small player would dribble into the lane and the help defense would leave a red hot 3-point shooter who would get the pass and make the 3). It was a pretty painful game to watch. I was a big Johnny Dawkins apologist but it is getting harder and harder every game.
