UCLA attrition - washingtonismoney - 05-14-2013

Unfortunately, looks like starting UCLA DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa is out for the season with a hip injury. UCLA's lost two starters to attrition this year -- S Tevin McDonald and the aforementioned Odighizuwa. Minus those players, believe they only have 10 returning starters. Could be a rocky year in Westwood.

pretty brutal to lose those 2 players. We should be able to put up 40 on them this year easily. And I don't see them putting up 40 on our D.  ;D

Not sure why Young Money got voted down for that comment?  Do we GET that many UCLA fans on this board?

I'm just guessing that a down vote might relate to having a smiley face in a post about a player suffering a season-ending injury.  I have to admit that until I read Y-M's post carefully, I was a bit taken aback by a wide grin in a post related to serious injuries to any young players, though clearly Money was smiling about our D rather than an opponent's injury.

Maybe this says something positive about the quality of the fans on this site that we don't take great pleasure in the actual physical suffering of our rivals (though don't we all take some pleasure in seeing the struggles of Lane Kiffin!)

Umm yeah I'm definitely excited about our defense and not players getting injured. And we don't need injuries to beat anyone in the PAC 12 anymore. Now if we play Bama in the NC game I might change my mind.  ;)

Got it.  I took the smiley to be a positive comment on our D rather than a vote for player injury (as Young Money confirmed).

No right thinking Stanford fan should want to see a young athlete, unpaid and playing for the love of his sport, seriously hurt.  I think that is very much the vibe on this site.
