NFL+Pac12 Network Workaround -
Bruce Wang - 09-05-2013
For those of you who want Pac-12 Network, but don't want to drop DirecTV because of NFL Sunday Ticket, here is a legal workaround. Cancel DirecTV. Sign up for cable. Buy the Madden 25th Anniversary Edition on Amazon for $100 and you can stream NFL Sunday Ticket on computer, tablet, or smartphone.
BTW I found a potential alternative to you know what. Will test it on Saturday night and let you know if it works.

Intriguing. If you're looking for additional beta-testers, let me know...
The only upside to having an 11PM EST kick off is that there won't be a log jam on the interwebs.

If you are referring to an alternative to First Row Sports, please share it. First Row Sports has gotten more devious. The notices that you need to download the latest version of Flash, for example, are bogus. Downloading anything from this site is a good way to get a virus.
I found one possible alternative for those living in areas where you can't get the Pac-12 network:Â

I believe this to be a "sister site" to First Row Sports:Â

The most effective workaround for Pac-12 networks: having a friend.

I was planning to watch on FirstRow. I am no expert on internet safety. I am assuming as long as I just watch the game and don't click on anything I should be safe but let me know if that is not the case!

NYCCF, you might want to take a look at this also:Â
https://adblockplus.org
I use it with Chrome, but it is available for other browsers also. Understand that it is not an antivirus program.

Thank You CochinoJanks. I just installed AdBlocks Plus on Chrome, and it works very well! For those who concerned about viruses this is a must. I tried all of the sites mentioned in this thread before and after installing AdBlocks. It makes all the difference in the world. No ads! Almost instant viewing of games. AND, for some reason, the picture quality is better. (This leads me to believe that something undesireable was running in the background without AdBlocks.) The only quirk I can see is that there are blank spots where some of the ads used to be. I found that by pressing a spot it instantly disappeared.
Just one word of caution: Install AdBlocks from the Crome store or the AdBlocks site shown above. It is easy for hackers to set up a bogus site that installs a virus and this happens all the time.
As for the ASU Sac State game, ASU is having an easy time with Sac State. They are making San Jose look bad.

I was impressed with AdBlocks on sites with anoying ads. Now I am really impressed. This software blocks video comercials on sites like CNN and Veetle too!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you CochinoJanks!
It's Adblock Plus, not AdBlocks -

Happily, it looks like no one has yet created a trojan called AdBlocks to fool people who misspell Adblock Plus. :P

For those of us in Comcast San Jose, channels 433 and 823 carry Pac 12 networks.

This is a little off topic but there is an interesting work around if you want Sunday Ticket and don't have or can't get direct TV. Right now on Amazon you can get an edition of Madden 25 that comes with a mobile device/computer access to Sunday Ticket. If you have google chrome cast ($35) you should be able to cast every NFL Game to your big screen tv.

It's not every game though, right? Just the ones on Sunday at 1 or 4:15. I don't believe this does the Sunday evening, Monday, or Thursday games, though I may be wrong about that.

That may be right but I have Cable with NFL network so I can get those. My Madden25 just arrived and with the Chromecast I now have Sunday Ticket on my 42inch Plasma without DirectV. Victory! Time for the Marc Trestman era to begin.

With that offensive line, it may be short-lived.

Another caveat concerning First Row. The pop-up ads aren't simply annoying, they're pornographic. I'd recommend against streaming it to your living room, unless you're looking for a natural lead-in to "that talk" with your adolescent child.

I don't know much about kids these days, but when I was an adolescent I was already plenty aware of pornography.

My wife saw one of those pop-ups! I had to explain that this was the price of not having cable.
BTW I'll be thankful if I don't have to have "that talk" until adolescence.
