Tea leaves on Randle - 97fan - 10-26-2010

The Journal & Courier in West Lafayette, Ind., has a story today suggesting that Chasson Randle is leaning toward Stanford, and stating that he\'s expected to make an announcement this week. There\'s nothing definitive, and the sourcing is a bit sketchy, but this still looks like a very positive development.

Quote:In talking to Rock Island basketball coach Tom Sigel and media members who cover Randle, the pitch Stanford and coach Johnny Dawkins made had a wow factor. ... The long-distance issue seems to have been solved after the family visited Stanford on Oct. 9. ... Randle isn\'t tipping his hand, but Stanford appears to have the upper hand.

We could be really good in 2011-2012.

for a second, i thought this was a post on jerome randle.  very glad to see it\'s not :)

if chasson\'s parents or chasson are reading this, i just got back from my five year reunion and am so thankful i went to Stanford versus any of my other choices (ivies included).  man i miss that place.

also, chris hernandez, rob little, and jason haas were sighted at the class of \'05 party.  matt haryasz was reportedly unable to break away for the weekend.

No quotes, but appears to lean on his high school coach, which I suppose is as good an authority as anyone (who isn\'t the player.)

Re: Tea leaves on Randle - stanfan - 10-27-2010

Per the Illini website, Randle is supposedly going to announce today.   Let\'s keep our fingers crossed as he would be a great "get".

Re: Tea leaves on Randle - washingtonismoney - 10-27-2010

garvin, do you mean Dwight Powell? He was (generally) higher ranked than Randle is, so unless the class of 2011 is markedly better than the class of 2010, then Powell is probably better than Randle.

(Rivals: Powell, 25th best player in the country; Randle, 68th
Scout: Powell, 42nd best player in the country; Randle, 55th
ESPN: Powell, 40th best player in the country; Randle, 38th).
