Richard Sherman = class more - scorecard - 02-13-2014

As in: go to class more, which was part of his message to kids at an underprivileged high school as documented in this clip.  Worth a watch.

There is more big Sherman news coming here over the next several months.
The Nike contract should be mammoth.
Great guy.

I hope we can all agree that the net impact of Sherman on the image of Stanford athletics, right now, is positive. And his impact on football recruiting is probably gigantic, in its own way rivaling the impact of Andrew Luck, considering that Sherman's narrative of a rise to success from rough beginnings is bound to resonate with a group of recruits who might not be able to identify with the son of a football exec and former NFL QB.

It's a good time to be a Stanford recruiter with those guys grabbing headlines.

That is the first time I've seen a high profile athlete say get better grades, not just stay in school.

Speaking of which, did anyone else notice how many of our recruits said, "I plan to GRADUATE from Stanford", not "I plan to play for Stanford".  That made me happy.
