Big Game memories - Spiny_Norman - 11-15-2010

Everyone knows the Joe Starkey call of The Play.  Last year Jim Grundberg, the KZSU play-by-play announcer for the game, found a tape in his basement of his call of the final minute.  It has been synchronized to the video and posted on youtube.  The color guy is Joe Mitchner.  

Listen for Jim\'s astute reminder of how SMU won a game the prior week on a lateral on a kickoff at the end of that game.

I was there in 82 but also in 1990 for that miraculous comeback.  1990 was the last BG that I have attended in Berkeley.  I want the sight of John Hopkins\' FG sailing through the uprights to be my lasting memory of that stadium.

I was there in 1982 but not for the big comeback one.  In fact, our seats were a few rows behind where the band was sitting, a location that they of course left a little bit too early.

No way I want to listen to either the kzsu announcer or any other version of the play... I was in high school at the time and it hit me pretty hard.

Contributes, along with last year\'s loss, to my desire for a big-ass, run-up-the-score beating of c.a.l, with the 2-point conversion at the end to push the margin of victory over 40.
