NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
A beautiful screen and Hamilton needlessly takes out a defender.

Geez Shaw you finally make it to the end of half with multple TOs and you let time run off!

The dumb unnecessary penalties have been so un-Stanford like this year. In all likelihood, another 4 (possibly 7 points) dropped. Can't do that on the road in the Pac-12.

I can see the field goal blocked to end the half. That would be fitting.

Unbelievably we head to the half with the lead.

Well, lead is better than no lead. But uuuuuugly.
And ASU was moving well on those last two drives, minus the turnovers. Can't assume that will happen every time.

Is this the first time Stanford has had the lead during regulation since...?

Glad we have the lead at the half. Give credit to the D for forcing two crucial TO's. I actually think, overall, the offensive performance hasn't been that bad (we have had pretty terrible field position most of the game, and have moved the ball well beyond the first two 3 and outs, which were awful). Over 200 yards of offense in first half alone. We should have 14 points though, and that is on mental mistakes and a throw that you have to have from Costello. If we had 14, instead of 6, I think we would be looking at the performance of the offense a lot differently.

When you are offensively challenged you can’t miss opportunities. They had St. Brown wide open for TD but the pass was thrown way late and it was badly under thrown. Then on the first well set up screen I’ve seen in two years an inexcusable penalty.
Hope Costello’s hand survives halftime.
Yep. Stupid trick play call. Didn’t need to get tricky.

More good stats from first half: we ran 41 plays to ASU's 26 plays (we are on pace to run 80+ plays, which is very good). We dominated TOP 2:1 (~20:00-10:00). All about finishing off drives though. At least the defense can hopefully remain fresher if the offense can at least stay on the field.

AZST gave us a fumble and a pick, and we only lead by 3.
Screen TD called back.
St. Brown had a TD -- underthrown.
Love has 9 carries for just 13yds, and 2 catches for 10.
Maybe, maybe -- we are not a Run First team. Capisce?

Really sparse crowd. It is a bigger stadium, yes? But still, lots and lots of empty seats.

JJ!! And Speights with yet another amazing pickup in protection! Speights is really standing out today, at a critical time with Love on-and-off the field.
