I think you know where I stand on "meaningless" games. I hope this doesn't happen, but I think you're right that it's only a matter of time. We're only a few years into this trend in football. I see no reason it won't bleed into other sports.

If a prospect really is concerned about injury after a 30-40 game season, then they probably are not draft worthy for the 82 game (plus more for playoffs) NBA season.

Line started out at -20. I can't find great comprehensive stats at the moment but my offhand impression is that Haase has been underachieving relative to the bettors' expectations. Of course, what we really care about is winning, but sustained inability to beat the line suggests underperformance at a team level -- which in turn suggests the Haase regime is not sound.

Well, if you can establish that is true, it might be worth discussing.
It is indeed complicated what it might mean. Of course part of a coach's job is to have the team doing well enough that bettors' expectations are high. Though so far one might think that wouldn't be a primary reason Haase's teams would have underachieved versus the betting line.
