Once again, there is no deadline for submitting your name to the transfer portal. Coach Shaw may have asked the seniors to let him know by a certain date so that he can make scholarship commitments. But the NCAA places no restrictions on when a player may enter the portal. It's always open.

This is why Shaw has told the players putting their name in the transfer portal that after a certain date, they won't be guaranteed a slot if they chose to come back.
