After adjusting for 8 confounding variables, such as age, gender, body mass index, race, hypertension, and diabetes, aspirin use was independently associated with decreased risk of mechanical ventilation (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR] = 0.56; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.37-0.85; P = .007), ICU admission (aHR = 0.57; 95% CI, 0.38-0.85; P = .005), and in-hospital mortality (aHR = 0.53; 95% CI, 0.31-0.90; P = .02).

Observational study, so I would like to see an observational study before coming to any definitive conclusions.

I started taking it as soon as I heard the reports of strokes in young people back in the spring. Figured it couldn't hurt. Given the virus seems to trigger some sort of hypercoaguable state, seems there is a plausible reason it may help.

I'd be very careful not to leave the thought that one might be advising aspirin use without knowing the specifics of the person & their health..  It is definitely not a never-harms drug.  At least for 70+yo, the recommendations changed 1.5 years ago.

A study funded by the National Institutes of Health of more than 19,000 people over age 70, published last year in The New England Journal of Medicine, found that a daily aspirin didn’t reduce the risk of heart attack, dementia or stroke but did increase rates of GI bleeding by an alarming 38 percent. And earlier this month, the American College of Cardiology published new guidelines recommending against routinely giving aspirin to older adults who don't have a history of heart disease.
