Oregon State edged Cal 71-63. Hard to understand why so close
Jones with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Recent HS grad Talia von Oelhoffen had 20 points.

Maybe so close because Missy Barlow was a ref for the game?

I watched some of Cal-OSU while working.

Cal has really improved over the course of the season.

For OSU, von Oelhoffen was very good. The announcers still can't figure out how to pronounce her name.

Another reason it was close was Cal had 16 offensive rebounds to Oregon State's 7 and Cal had 10 more shots total than Oregon State.

Cal defended the three point line pretty well and their forwards and posts were very good. Their point guard also played very well.

Not sure they can beat Oregon again, but it’ll be interesting.

Cal should be a much improved team bext year. They have some nice pieces.

von Oelhoffen looks to be a good one.

Yep. Onwards towards playing the Women of Troy tomorrow, hopefully a repeat of earlier this season happens.

In any case, no real surprises so far -- Washington State will look to hold serve against a depleted Utah squad, while Colorado takes on Washington later this evening. The real action gets started tomorrow -- with all eyes on Oregon vs. Oregon State.

U$C w/a 65.2 shooting percentage????

Has Stanford even been in the arena to shoot yet?

??? Looking now, I see the page says it was updated 3/2/2020, which is before Colorado's loss yesterday, and they were already in the second four out. They'll probably move further down on the next update.

Oregon scores 19 points in two full quarters of play.  Ducks trail the Beavers by 5 at the half.  Not a shooting clinic when the winning team is shooting 31%.

That was quite a change; they scored more in the 3rd quarter than the first half of the game

Also Von Oelhoffen already making such a significant impact on the team, even though normally, this would be her senior year of high school. She's really adjusted very quickly to the collegiate game. Rueck has a new star on his team.

My video feed is down for the finish of the Duck Beaver game.  Mikesell is crazy on fire.  She has 24 points.  VonO has 18 and has taken the game under her wing.  Ducks are going to lose and we might get to play the Beavers.  Williams will shut down VonO well enough IMO.
