First game today started at 6:05 p.m. Moving along rather quickly. Top of the 5th, Stanford leads, 1-0. It seems like every time I check the live action, we hit into a double play.

I’m a long time season ticket holder but not allowed to go. Love 11-2 and if I can go at some point I will

11-2 and nobody cares. Damn shame because this is an exciting team that needs your support.
Right now the board is kind of focused on our WBB team, an established national title contender. They'll have plenty of support to give in this direction in a couple of weeks. That said, in 13 games they've more than doubled last season's win total, which took them 16 games to get to, that is certainly not too shabby.

Stanford wins today, 4-1, and with that, we win the series, 2-1. I didn't catch the first half of the game, but I heard the announcers mention that our starter Dowd struggled early and was pulled after 2.2 innings (no earned runs but 4 hits, a walk and a HBP). Pancer came in and pitched well for 4 innings despite giving up an earned run. Grech pitched the last two innings for his 7th(!) save of the season. That must be good for first in the league.
This is probably the Stanford overachiever in me talking, but Utah is at or near the bottom of the league in multiple categories. We should have swept them at home.
On Friday, I think I heard the announcers mention that two of our pitchers on the DL have started throwing in practice. One of them was Williams, and he might be back the weekend after next. Lord willing.

The baseball term for the most dependable pitcher on a team is The Horse. Take a look at the old Baseball Encyclopedia and you can see how important nicknames are. If this kid becomes Stanford’s horse just called him Prancer.
