Inbounding the ball at the end of the game has been our Achilles Heel. I can't believe that Brink didn't get fouled on that play. I'll have to look back at the video.

I agree in that why did we inbound the ball to Cameron in that situation; I would say you would have Williams or Wilson, our most sure-handed ball handlers get the ball.
Maybe shades of the Colorado game, where Tara was afraid a smaller player might be picked off by Henderson or Cooke?

I can't really get too worked up over a non-call there, given that Brink shoved a player as she was going to the basket for a layup. Also, you could make a case that Lexie had a kicked ball (the announcers thought so) on a steal. On the other hand, it was maddening how physical the Gamecocks were allowed to be on their screens, and on defense how much they harassed the ballhandlers (often with contact). I don't think Brink's was even the worst of the day.
Bottom line, I didn't think it was a particularly well-called game, but I didn't think that the calls were obviously going one way or another.

Even though this game turned out to be a bit of a tossup, we have defeated two teams in a row that I believed could have gone all the way, so we can make it three, no matter which one it turns out to be. My dislike (I am keeping this family-friendly) of Yukon is so great, I still want them to lose every game that matters, but if they handle the Wildcats, bring 'em on. We've shown we can play with and beat ANYBODY.

I mean if South Carolina's Boston had made an easy putback, they would have won. Boston probably makes that 4 times in 5; we were lucky that this was the time they missed. Plus, for all the layups we blew, Jones was on fire. The last bucket she made, where she grabbed the rebound in traffic, I was thinking "no... no.... no... YES!" With about 30 seconds left in the game, backing out and resetting would have been the better move, but of course, the best shot is the one you make, and Jones made it.

Let me also say that I felt for Boston, who burst into tears right when the game ended. That putback is her shot and she had the game right there.
I also was heartened and happy to see Belibi and Haley hug Boston after the game.
SC is tough and if they had won, I would have been rooting for them all the way, against presumedly UConn.

With 3 minutes remaining in the game, Stanford had only 1 turnover in the 2nd half. They had done so well to avoid the careless errors that have frustrated us fans all season. Then Haley traveled in the backcourt completely unforced. Lexie went behind her back and lost control of the ball for another TO. And finally Cameron lost the ball when all she had to do was hold onto it because Stanford had the possession arrow.

Post game, I had to go out and talk a walk just to get rid of all the pent up tension. What a game.
And not only does Stanford now have the NCAA tournament record for 3s -- with 6 today, Brink now has the Stanford season record for Brinks! 85 (vs Jayne's 84 blocks, set in 2007-08, playing in 8 more games than Cam has so far this season, and now she has one more to go!)

Boston lost her concentration once she got her third foul. Even more so after the fourth. Without those fowls, the last 9 seconds would not have mattered.

I'm watching the video of the game and when we were up by 5 with 1:18 to play, SC shot a 3 and missed. Prechtel had good position on Boston, but Boston pushed Prechtel forward and got the rebound. That led to their little guard getting a bucket and one to bring the game to within 2. Good refs would have called that foul on Boston, which would have been her 5th.
