The right field fence is the minimum possible and is at the bleachers. So with all our Left handed hitters we all think we will be hitting HRs. Of course the first HR was by a RH hitter but to RF

Chung started out shaky at pitching but managed to only give up one run. Replaced by freshman Prystajko in third.

Stanford up 5-0 in fifth inning against UC Riverside. Stanford playing long ball with three home runs. Going off on a tangent; when I had my company I hired two UC Riverside graduates. They turned out to be two of the smartest engineers I had.
Stanford tied 5-5 with UC Davis going into bottom of third. Davis scored 5 in third inning; Houston relieved by Chung.

Yes Standard size except RF is the minimum allowed 15 feet or so closer than normal

Stanford now 9-0 with 58 runs and 15 home runs this past weekend. The Cardinal are dominating weak teams. I actually am starting to think the offense may do ok against ranked teams. I'm not sure yet about the pitching; need to see some games against top teams.

The pitching is about to get a herculean task, which is contain two of the best offenses in the country (Arizona and Texas) in perhaps the most hitter friendly park in the country.

Stanford leads the ACC by a lot in batting avg. (.460), slugging pct. (.813), and on-base pct. (.534).
Stanford ranks just 7th out of 15 ACC teams in ERA (2.66). The main problem with the pitching has been allowing too many free passes. Stanford is not giving up a lot of hits, allowing opponents a batting average of just .174, which is the third lowest in the ACC. In 50 innings, Stanford pitchers have allowed just 30 hits, but have given up 42 free passes (28 walks and 14 HBPs).

What's sad, with how last year's young offense has predictably improved with more experience, is that Stanford with Canady could have won a national championship. Maybe it is just me, but a couple of million dollars, when the alternative is still six figures from Stanford, isn't worth what was given up (40 year decision etc.).

Terry, are they using automated umps, or standard, behind-the-plate human umpires?
Also...Stanford has the most doubles (by a lot, 26-20 for 2nd place), most runs (93 over 83), second most home runs (19, leader has 20), .813 slugging percentage best in ACC by a long ways. Third best fielding percentage at .975 (Louisville is at .986, Syracuse is .980). 12 of 12 stolen bases. Third best batting average against (.174, as Terry pointed out). Gave up just 3 wild pitches, third best. 14 HBPs leads the league, though.
Pretty cool.
