Stanford made the most of their hits this weekend. They somehow won the series with a total of 10 hits in 3 games (3-5-2).

Why do you say that?
I couldn’t watch this week’s games, but I thought as recently as last week, the TV announcers were pointing out that the stadium was available through the super regionals.

According to the TV broadcast, the stadium is booked for other events, such as Coldplay's concert and commencement, etc. Although Super Regionals are May 16-18, and Coldplay is May 31- June 1. Is that not enough time to reconfigure the stadium as needed?

I'm getting a chance to watch games from this past weekend. And, yes, the announcers said that Stanford cannot host because they need time to set up for the Coldplay concert. Well, I guess one has to hope Stanford makes tons of money from that concert. And I hope whoever planned it is being sent to the showers.

Tbf, as I have indicated previously, I think on merits we are on the outside looking for a top 16 seed irrespective of the stadium situation. We have 2 top 25 RPI wins (Texas and Clemson). We ever so narrowly lost a series H2H at home to Clemson, and got swept by Virginia Tech on the road by one run in each game (who along with Duke have to be the competition for the final few hosting slots). Our RPI is also 18 (out of top 16) after only getting two out of 3 at home against Virginia.
As I have said, I think it is a remarkable coaching job that we lost the best player in college softball and still even have a noteworthy chance at a top 16 seed. I also presume there are other options if Stanford is deemed worthy of a top 16 seed (e.g. Stanford hosts its regional at Cal, or Santa Clara etc.?) Stanford, like playing games in a football stadium, can get creative so the team doesn't have to go on the road even with a top 16 seed (Duke had to do that during COVID).

2) Everyone was aware, and a decision to book Coldplay with the resultant payday outweighed the benefits to softball hosting once you account for the probability that Stanford would host (or even maybe not even accounting for that).
I mean, it's not like the athletic department is swimming in money since we've moved to the ACC and the resulting reduced payout. The revenue from the Coldplay concerts may have been necessary to offset the department's deficit, even if it adversely affects the softball team. We also decided to move to the ACC even though the travel schedule also adversely affects the teams in the new league.

people have been working on getting concerts in the stadium for years, I doubt a potential conflict with post season softball games was on their radar. It may or may not have been brought up as a potential issue by the AD, if it was someone decided the concert was a higher priority.

To elaborate further on this, I think to have a realistic chance of a top 16 seed, we need to at minimum sweep Boston College and make a run to the ACC tournament finals (because not accomplishing either of these things would either give RPI 100+ loss(es) and/or yet another loss to our likely regional host competition). Stanford may need to win the ACC tournament to make this conversation really interesting for a top 16 seed.

Cal plans to upgrade their softball field I believe starting now. It’s not feasible anyway. Once they complete the long awaited upgrade it should be nice.
