So Stanford starts the road to the College Cup at home against Sacramento State. Â As expected.
Also as expected, the committee stacked the Pac-10 against one another (7 teams in, 6 of them would meet in 3 round of 16 games, the other, USC is first at Notre Dame and then would be lined up at North Carolina). Â At least none are paired in the second round, as has been the case in the past.
The worst of it is, sorry Mick, reserved for Santa Clara. Â Geography again wins out (along with an unexpected loss at Pepperdine last week), and the Broncos, who as a team that has been top-20 pretty much all year, gets slotted against Stanford in the second round, when they should be somewhere playing against a team ranked around #10 or #12.
Game TBA Friday night, with second round Sunday afternoon.
